Each week there will be a different topic in the main room. This week we are discussing the upcoming recruiting activities. There will be breakout rooms for those wanting to organize games and another for peer-advising.

Helping to Amplify the Voices of Transfer Students As a transfer student, it is hard to find useful sources of information, which can lead to a lot of missed opportunities. To help incoming transfers, I became a mentor for MentorSEAS and the Transfer Representative for the Society Of Latino EngineerS (SOLES). Through these roles, I was able to bring awareness as to what it is that transfers want and need when they are new to the school, as well as give transfers information I wish I would have had when I transferred. I hope I was able to help make people’s transitions easier and to inspire them to help others in the same situation. Psst. The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science is inviting undergraduate engineering students to apply for a paid Undergraduate Mentor position with the 2020 Virtual Transfer Bridge to UCLA Samueli summer program. As an Undergraduate Mentor you will work on a team with a Graduate Student Facilitator to support classroom instruction in our 14-week evening and weekend program and lead a technical design project at our culminating Hack-a-thon. Due to the impacts of COVID 19 on-campus events, we have transitioned the Engineering sessions at the Transfer Bruin Day event for admitted transfer students to a virtual event called Discover UCLA Engineering for transfers. As part of the events on May 9, 2020, it includes an interactive Zoom session with current engineering transfer students. We need reps from each major to join us in the Zoom ...sessions.
