Dear LA friends, On March 1 at 6pm I will be conducting this very special concert with the UCLA Philharmonia and choirs at Royce Hall. The amazing legacy of Je...wish composers has had an immense impact on the LA music community and the world beyond. The first half of this concert features works of Korngold, Zeisl and Schoenberg. In true UCLA fashion, the Schoenberg and Zeisl families provided great assistance to have performing parts created for the choirs and orchestra of the Zeisl... which only existed from the manuscript in our special collections. The descendants of Zeisl and Schoenberg will be in attendance the evening of this performance. The second half of the concert is Mahler Symphony No. 1. No comment needed. Hope to see you there. Info can be found in the link.

If you are interested in a professional career in ensemble singing please join us this summer! The Seraphic Fire Professional Choral Institute is now in its third year of association with the famed Aspen Music Festival. This summer program is specifically geared towards students who have aspirations of becoming professional choral singers. The participants work closely with master faculty coaches who instruct them in vocal technique, chamber music skills, sightreading facili...ty, the business side of professional choral singing, foreign diction, etc. Perhaps the most important part of the program is the professional networking available to the participants---both within their cohort, but also with the faculty members, many of whom regularly engage professional choristers. Several UCLA alumni have participated in the program, and it has been SO enriching for them. If you have specific questions about the program, please feel free to reach out to Patrick Muehleise, program manager, at [email protected] .
