Highlights below: - UC Davis Health frontline workers were among the first to receive the COVID vacci...ne - Continue to wear masks, social distance, wash hands & get tested often as vaccines become available to everyone - Avoid non-essential travel - Students must get tested within 7 days before & after any travel for winter break & self-quarantine for a min. of 10 days, even if tested negative - We are hoping for an expanded range of in-person learning activities for Spring 2021 - We expect Fall 2021 will return to pre-pandemic, in-person instruction There is a lot to look forward to in 2021. Chemistry Ph.D. Candidate Lindsay Cameron photographed nerve cells as part of her work with a team of researchers that engineered a non-hallucinogenic psychedelic drug compound, which has potential for treating addiction, depression and other psychiatric disorders. The results were published in the December edition of Nature, where Cameron was credited as a co-author of the paper. In "Humanizing Deportation: The Faces of Contemporary Migration," UC Davis graduate students documented more than 300 stories from people deported to Mexico. These deported migrant testimonials focus on their experiences and thoughts on the contemporary phenomenon of mass deportation.
