Outdoor Adventures is participating in Give Day - a 29-hour online fundraising event taking place April 16 - 17, coinciding with Picnic Day. The link to donate is https://giveday.ucdavis.edu/giving-day/34890/donate This year, OA strives to raise money to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Outdoor Adventures. ... Unfortunately, not everyone has equal access - and divisions between those with and without often fall along borderlines between racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. One of the biggest obstacles preventing everyone from being able to enjoy the outdoors is money. Bringing the cost down for trips and classes would make an enormous impact in the community - and we need your help to do it. If we can raise $50,000, we will be able to start an endowment to ensure that Outdoor Adventures can continue to motivate and inspire. We each have an opportunity to bring about positive change for our community. We are asking you to please consider donating to our program through the link in our bio. We are committed to doing our part in increasing diversity in the outdoors. We have created a task force to help tackle this pressing issue, and we’d love to hear from you! This Task Force is made up of a small group of students and community members. The responsibility of this group of volunteers will be to come up with ways of engaging different groups on campus, create innovative outreach strategies, fundraise, and provide educational opportunities for current OA staff, in... an effort to create community at OA which is more representative of the UC Davis student body.
