Is Jesus leading a new Rebellion, or is he on the Dark Side? Is he confused, misunderstood, unstable? Or just woefully uneducated? Is he just trying to stir up trouble? ... Can he be trusted? Do we want to be seen with him in the city? He speaks out against and acts against the Empire - risky, dangerous behavior. No wonder he spoke in secret messages - parables. His own family seems embarrassed by him - so much so that they exclaim, He’s out of his mind! and want to take him home, to restrain him and prevent him from doing ministry. They seem frightened by him! But Jesus cannot be restrained - cannot be bound and chained in servitude to the Empire - Roman, Galactic, or otherwise. He cannot be silenced, in spite of his detractors - and even his followers. What choice do you make? https://youtu.be/GQJOjqdwTO8

https://youtu.be/S-x6b7dW5VY Let's talk about social justice. As a member of the United Church of Christ, this is an ongoing conversation. Today, we discuss an important social justice happening in sports, that saw a team forfeiting a game; and also why it is important for me to a member of the United Church of Christ.

UCC Simi gets mention in National Article! Our mention sarts in the section marked "Southern California: ‘I thought I was pretty hip’" "At the opposite corner of the U.S. map, in a suburb of Los Angeles, workplace conversations following Floyd’s death introduced Carla Ritter to a book that opened her eyes Layla Saad’s Me and White Supremacy. It is now the basis of a study she is leading at her church, UCC Simi Valley." https://www.ucc.org/news_in_predominantly_white_ucc_interes"

https://youtu.be/d4y_78tI6Ps Animals are blessings; there is no way around that. Our pets are there for us on our good days; and don't leave us on our worst days. With my ducks in the background, I share stories of the power of three of my pets from past and present In an effort to get people thinking about the roles that animals have played in their lives. - Daniel DuBay
