UCBA would like to wish all our members, patients and cannabis community a safe 4/20 holiday. As we embark on California’s First 4/20 after our historic vote to legalize cannabis for people over 21 years old, we are reminded that cannabis rules and regulations have not yet been passed that allows for the sale of cannabis to anyone who is not a cannabis patient. UCBA looks forward to working with city and state officials in creating the licensing structure that will allow for... the safe sale of cannabis to adults. Until then, we continue to support the patients of Southern California and continue to fight for fair regulations and the complete legalization of the plant that has saved lives and provides a safer choice for recreational use. Have a safe and happy 4/20! The Members of UCBA

My name is Javier Montes and I am the Membership Chair for United Cannabis Business Association (UCBA). I would like to personally invite you to join us on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 6:00pm at POT Restaurant located at the Line Hotel, as UCBA hosts Los Angeles City Council President, Herb Wesson, Councilman Bob Blumenfield and Wanda James, President, Cannabis Global Initiative (and the first African American licensed dispensary owner in Colorado), to have an open discussi...on on Measure M. As you know, the cannabis industry is fighting for fair and equitable taxation and licensing in Los Angeles. The members and Board of UCBA feel that Measure M will provide the path to allowing our industry to operate in the same manner as other legal businesses in Los Angeles. We welcome you to join us in that dialog and discover what is next for our Prop D Dispensaries and the legal framework that will guide our businesses and business decisions. I am looking forward to meeting you personally and showing you the power of our collective voices as we move to a legal and regulated framework. Please Join Us At UCBA, we pride ourselves in keeping our members informed and engaged, particularly as it relates to relevant policy and political issues involving the industry. UCBA members have taken an active role in shaping our political, policy and regulatory decisions Both local and in Sacramento. We would like you to join us and see for yourself the benefits of being a part of the UCBA. I look forward to meeting you on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 6:00pm and creating a powerful network of legal dispensary owners that are prepared to fight for this industry, our patients and our neighborhoods. Javier Montes, Vice President Membership Chair, UCBA

Last night, fifteen UCBA members attended an event to support Council President Herb Wesson and his Officeholder Committee. Our members were able to greet the Council President, meet some of his staff, and listen to him speak about the exciting issues LA will be taking on. Pictured are UCBA members Shaun Lang (Strain Balboa Caregivers), Javier Montes (DELTA 9 THC) and Elizabeth Caffrey (Greenwolf La) shaking hands with the Council President.
