Retirement is all I hoped it would be! Hoping you are all having a wonderful year.

Today was my separation day from the university. On July 1st I will be officially retired after 18 years as UC Merced Writing Project Director. It has been a wonderful 3rd job for me, following on the heels of teaching high school and teaching college courses. My Dean honored me with a wonderful send-off luncheon and Teresa Pitta, Rae Owens, and Lynn Parker hosted an open house yesterday for UCMWP Teacher Leaders. Those who attended filled a decorative box with letters, cards, and notes. I felt so honored, hearing stories of how my work with the writing project changed their teaching lives. So I leave my position feeling my work was valued as was I. Thank you to all who attended and shared their stories, especially to the hostesses. I am honored to have been a part of your personal and professional stories. Thank you!
