This past weekend UC Davis and our livestock judging team hosted the California State 4-h Finals contest and the first FFA contest of the season. Congratulations to Madera County 4-h who were crowned state champs and will represent CA in Louisville. The champion FFA team was from Oroville-Las Plumas. Congratulations!

Looking back on January it has been a busy and fun month for our Livestock Judging Team. 7th High team at Arizona National Livestock Show and 10th high team in sheep & goats at National Western Stock Show in Denver. A positive and dedicated group of young people out representing our program!

SALE DATE HAS CHANGED!!! - UC DAVIS AGGIE CLASSIC LAMBS AND PIGS SELL SATURDAY, JANUARY 26 GOATS AND LAMBS SELL SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23... The Aggie Classic Lamb, Pig and Goat Sale has changed dates! The first sale date had to be changed for reasons outside of our control and the NEW SECOND SALE DATE WAS ADDED to provide an opportunity to purchase some of our late November December born lambs and meat goats that will work for mid to late summer fairs. Come join us on campus (Cole Facility) on Saturday, January 26. Educational clinics (9-11am), animal preview (11 am) and sale (noon) times will follow the same schedule as previous years. On February 23, preview will start at 11 am with sale to follow. This is one of the deepest sets of lambs and pigs we have produced in recent years. Lambs in the first sale will be ideal for May and June Fairs. Pigs are coming on strong and will be ideal for June-July fairs. As always, the Aggie Classic Sale is the first opportunity to purchase the best of the lambs, goats and pigs that we have produced this year no picked over selection here!

Aggie Classic Sale and clinics will be on January 19th at the Cole Facility (can be found on google maps) and we ask that all customers park in Lot 47 directly across the street from Cole. Clinics from 9-11am, sale preview at 11 and sale starts at 12! Here's a map to make your arrival a little easier. Hope everyone is as excited as we are!
