With all the talk about holiday prep & shopping starting earlier this year, here’s how you can make a HUGE difference: buy from your local event companies. They have lost almost all business this year and many offer items/services that you may not be aware of: Need a pie for Thanksgiving? Call a local wedding cake baker or catering company. A lot of them can ship, too. Want to add some visual cheer to your house? Your local florist can get you all the greenery for DIY g...arlands and wreaths or can make them for you. Your local wedding florist can get you pumpkins, too, and way cuter ones than you’ll find at the grocery store. Sending cards? Use a wedding and event photographer for socially distant family photos and order your cards through a local stationery designer (like us!). Live in a place where you can get together for holiday meals? Your local event rental company can provide you with extra chairs & outdoor space heaters. You can also rent tableware (vintage china has been a huge design trend and lots of companies have tons of it in inventory). Want to get extra fancy because it’s been a terrible year and pretty things cheer people up? Have a calligrapher address your holiday card envelopes. Literally, any holiday thing you can think of, a wedding pro can provide, and often far more stylishly than anyone else. Because weddings are expensive, people think most wedding pros are super-wealthy & have been quarantining on their private yachts. Peter - the idea of having one person perfectly made for you was never something that I believed in. I didn't grow up thinking that relationships would be exactly how they are in fairytales. I was taught that love grows and that relationships are both a choice and the product of hard work. But with you, it seems like everything has just fallen into place. When I first saw you, something made me go out of my way to introduce myself during an ice breaker and find something in ...common for us to talk about (even if I had to tell a little white lie). When you put up your walls I pushed past the tough guy act with full confidence that I could break through it. When you wanted to move in together after 10 weeks, I was nervous, but excited and knew that it wouldn’t be a mistake. When you asked me to be yours forever, saying yes was easily the best decision I've ever made. Our journey here hasn't always been easy - but choosing you always was.
