Last weekend for the Gold Dust peaches at the farm stand! We have a limited amount of cases for the $20 special. We are open from 10-4 today!

Stellar yellow peach varieties for the weekend, two very different flavors! Heirloom organic Gold Dust peaches are one of the best tasting peaches we grow. Smaller than most, they are melt-in-your-mouth texture and incredibly sweet and honey like. Related to the famed Suncrest peach, their old fashioned characteristics are unbeatable. These will be ripe and very ready to eat, we will be offering a special on 10lb cases, only $20!!! Our other variety is Zee Pride yellow peach.... This is a newer variety for us and we are so glad we planted them!! Hardy yielders, related to another favorite, June Pride. These will be harvested with a slightly firmer texture that softens beautifully off the tree within a day or two. Gorgeous dark skin with streaks of red throughout the flesh, these are rich in flavor with the perfect balance of sweet to acidic. This peach is super bold in flavor. Not certified organic but like with all our fruit, grown using the same farming practices. Also on sale for $20/10lb flats. We will have these available at all farmers markets and the farm stand this weekend!

We had too much fun tasting wine, fruit and delicious bites for our upcoming event this Friday evening! We are loving the Picnic in the Orchard concept, such a fun, unique way to celebrate Placer County and all the seasonal splendor. Kerry of @the_grazing_grouse_ gave us a super delicious sneak peak of what to expect of her glorious grazing boards. Jocelyn of @lonebuffalovineyards and family selected the perfect wines to accompany the bites. We have just a few tickets left, go to our website and find details on the What’s Happening page! Thank you to @maryrossittophotography for capturing the fun!

We have begun harvest of our Dancy tangerines Appearing on Slow Food USA Ark of Taste, the Dancy tangerine is one of the oldest varieties grown in the US but no longer found commercially. Attractive reddish orange skin and strong citrus flavor, these sweet, easy to peel tangerines are a real winter treat. Segments are firm and juicy and may contain seeds, their skin contains aromatic floral notes and excellent essential oils. Enjoy this fruit for the next month or so. We are offering the Dancy at our orchard farm stand, farmers markets and through local stores and distributors.

This is the quintessential, true lemon lemon. The Eureka variety is extremely juicy with bright acidity with the perfect zesting rind. The scent is nearly intoxicating, nothing like spending time in the orchard harvesting these beauties.

Blood oranges, mandarins, tangerines, navel oranges, Cara Cara oranges, Meyer lemons, Eureka lemons, Mandarinquats, Chandler Pomello, Melogold grapefruit... lots of beautiful citrus selections for your Tuesday morning farmers market in Roseville today! @liveplacergrown market at the @fountainsatrsvl from 8:30-1

Twin Peaks Orchards 09.11.2020

Very first of our Owari Satsuma mandarins will be available at the @liveplacergrown Auburn farmers market today! We only have a few boxes and will sell out early! The season looks great, usually the first mandarins are more tart but the warm fall temperatures have produced fruit very high in sugar. They are pretty awesome already Don’t forget, November 7th will be our first day back open at the farmstand at the orchard!

Daybreak was beautiful this morning in the orchard! You can see Mirna Rivera, a long time employee of Twin Peaks Orchards picking organic Fuyu persimmons for market tomorrow. Mirna is an integral part of our operations here and one of the reasons your fruit tastes and looks so good!

We love these big old persimmon trees. Half Amagaki, half Hachiya. Over 100 years old

Twin Peaks Orchards 30.09.2020

Our Amagaki harvest has officially begun!! After a long day of picking, these beauties will go on to be conditioned for the next 10 days or so then will be ready for you all to enjoy. This crop was of #1 priority during our rebuilding. The Amagaki crop is our most sacred, the variety is exclusive to Twin Peaks Orchards and is a huge part of our farming legacy. Developed by our founder, Howard Nakae, customers have been anticipating this yearly crop for nearly 100 years. If you haven’t tried one yet, make sure you do this season! Also known as the Cinnamon persimmon, this delicious fruit is perfect eaten firm or slightly soft like a peach. Sweet, cinnamon flecked flesh with a creamy texture, this fruit is unlike any other. This crop will be picked daily for about 6-8 weeks. We can hardly wait!!

First few Meyer lemons and last of the pineapple guava this morning at the @liveplacergrown farmers market in Auburn! And lots of persimmons

Twin Peaks Orchards 10.09.2020

While out checking the winter citrus crops, we came across one of the biggest Chandler Pomelo we have ever seen! The Chandler is a cross between a Siamese Sweet Pomelo and a Siamese Pink Pomelo. This won’t be ready until early to mid December, can’t wait to see how much bigger it gets!

This is a note from Twin Peaks Orchards and Orchard Delights to our friends, customers and supporters: First off, I would like to begin by saying how very much we love our community. Over the last century we have developed life-long (even spanning familial generations) friendships and partnerships with some incredibly wonderful people and their families. We are truly humbled by the outpouring of support over the years and continue to be honored to be a part of such a remarkab...Continue reading

We will have a limited amount of pineapple guava at the @liveplacergrown farmers market in Roseville tomorrow! We know they are ready when they start to cover the ground, the exterior is slightly firm with delicious, pineapple-like tropical flesh. Give some a try!

Twin Peaks Orchards 11.08.2020

Citrus season is making it’s way to the markets with Tahitian limes and Okistu Wase mandarins. Very limited and extra special, Tahitian limes are fragrant and juicy with a Meyer lemon-like rind. Okistu Wase are super sweet with excellent, vibrant juice and very thin skin. They may still have a slightly green shoulder as the warmer temperatures keep them from coloring fully. In the coming weeks we will see other varieties coming in to season like Meyer lemons and Owari satsuma mandarins.

Twin Peaks Orchards 22.07.2020

It is officially persimmon season! Both Fuyu and Gosho persimmon varieties can be eaten firm with no tannins. Fuyu are crunchy and sweet, Gosho are also known as a giant Fuyu variety and are delicious and pumpkin like in flavor. And this may be the last week of chestnuts ! Find us in Auburn at the @liveplacergrown farmers market from 8 till noon today!

Twin Peaks Orchards 06.07.2020

Our Fuyu persimmons are coloring beautifully with these cooler night temperatures! We will start to harvest a few at a time for our upcoming farmers markets with the real harvest beginning later next week. The fuyu trees we have on our property are older, Japanese style persimmons with rich maple flavor and heavy cinnamon flecks of sugar. Some trees on our property are over a century old! The majority of these delicious Fall fruits are grown certified organic as well by our little sister, @orcharddelights
