California State Senator Bob Archuleta visited Leffingwell Manor to distribute 4,000 masks and hand sanitizer to TSA residents. Residents had the opportunity to meet and speak to the Senator in person. He encouraged residents and staff to continue practicing safe Covid-19 measures. Thank you Senator Bob Archuleta!

TSA invited guest speaker Dr. Roger A. Richardson, professor of Political Science and Public Administration of University of Southern Indiana, to provide an engaging educational experience on the historical significance of Juneteenth on this historical day. Dr. Richardson challenged the team to reflect on the impacts of racism on housing policy and to work collaboratively as citizens of the community to address these obstacles in honor of Juneteenth. TSA is proud to observe the Juneteenth holiday.

Norwood Learning Village, a TSA Tax Credit community with preference for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) employees, hosted the LAUSD press conference on Wednesday, June 9th announcing their newest initiative. As part of an effort to attract and retain teachers and other school employees, officials for the Los Angeles Unified School District announced an initiative to provide 2,000 affordable housing units for employees to live in the communities where they work. As we look to recruit the next generation of talent to work in our schools, we have to understand for them to live and work in the communities they serve, they have to be able to afford it, said Superintendent Austin Beutner at the press conference.

Janet Goeske Foundation & Senior Center, our next door neighbor at Goldware in Riverside, CA, gifted residents a healthy food package of veggie produce. Thank you!

Housing Corporation of America hosted an art class for TSA employees, "Paint & Sip." Team members enjoyed an hour of camaraderie and beverages as an HCA art teacher instructed them on how to paint landscape scenes. Thank you HCA hosting this relaxing and fun event!

Missouri Place has completed its framing to the 6th floor while also distributing applications to all hopeful future residents. Missouri Place is TSA’s newest 74-unit, non-age restricted, affordable housing community located in West Los Angeles. The building is scheduled to open in Summer 2021.TSA continues to proudly serve communities of the Los Angeles area by providing affordable housing to all those in need.

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, TSA reflects on the contributions of Native people in the Americas and beyond. In our own community of Los Angeles County, Indigenous Peoples resided in many areas that we now call home. TSA celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month which takes place September 15 to October 15. We recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community. Celebrations are held nationwide through festivals, art shows, conferences and community gatherings. TSA joins the Los Angeles Public Library in recognizing this month by sharing this amazing educational resource with families seeking to celebrate too.
