It's finally official and posted on the USAT Site - check out the DIY Tri. It's a "virtually free" VIrtual Triathlon and it's fully USAT sanctioned. With the postponement of Tri Santa Cruz until next year we wanted to give people a chance to do a virtual tri and challenge themselves this summer. DIY Tri has all the same events as Tri Santa Cruz - sprint and Olympic triathlon, aquabike, aquathlon and duathlon. Plus we've added a 5k and 10k run to the events. You can do one eve...nt or you can do all 10. You can do a relay. There's also a club challenge with points for participation and finish results. Check out the challenge offered up by Katie and Tommy Zafares to beat their segment or overall times for a sprint or Olympic race (I'm sure there's someone out there who can do it!) The cool thing about a virtual race is that you can constantly improve on your skills over the two month period and post up your times and select your fastest time for official results. The cost is only $15 to participate. If you were registered for Tri Santa Cruz you have received a discount code. There are discounts for multiple event selection as well. (You don't need to purchase a one-day USAT membership, but we are tracking your USAT numbers so put it down if you have one). We are so sorry to announce that Tri Santa Cruz has been postponed to 2020. The new date is exactly one year out - August 8, 2021. There won’t be any major events in Santa Cruz this summer. COVID-19 UPDATE We value our clients and athlete safety during this unprecedented crisis and shutdown. Our decisions to continue an event or transition into a creative virtual event will be decided based on guidance from our local health department, permitting agencies and shelter-in-place requirements. Each event will be decided on a case by case basis and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we have information. Basically - like everyone else we find ourselves making decisi...ons and changing our minds daily. Nobody knows how this will turn out. In the meantime please stay safe and get your exercise and training whenever and wherever you can to stay healthy and stress free.
