Lifting with a hip hinge is safe, strong and the better way to lift objects from the floor without handles. The "squat" method isn't inherently bad either but it gives no room to pass the knees, puts our leg and hip musculature in a fully lengthened and or shortened position which decreases strength and efficiency. No "core" tightening needed to "protect" your spine. ... Just relax the body and you can even hold your breath with the lift. This patient was treated with movement and progressive loading while educating about low back pain and reducing fear of it.
