King of the Hammers.. where do I start? Gulf War, Desert Storm and Iraq War fighter pilot Greg Stearns and his son, Scott with @stearnsoffroadracing raced King of the Hammers in their Ultra 4 series buggy for their first ever Hammers. @bentmotorsports killed it with prepping the rig for the trial runs and all the last minute maint (some major) before it went on a trailer en route to Hammer town. Before the race, we worked diligently to fine tune some items that came up, brief...ed for the days to come, had a successful drivers meeting, passed contingency, turned a few more wrenches and ate some damn good chow the whole time courtesy of Cindy and Greg Stearns. Race day commenced and though being our first time pitting for this magnitude of a race, it couldn’t have gone any better. The pits are also a breed of their own but all teams helped one another as rigs came in with engine and trans problems, shock valve adjusting and removing limit straps, brake problems, belt adjustments, link tq checks, changing multiple tires, fueling, driver fatigue, you name it we did it. We also had 3 race cars at our pit at a single time! @stearnsoffroadracing #697 did a hell of a job navigating the laps, self recovering from a roll over, being chased by the helo during live event coverage and observing/ communicating problems with the rig as they came to us to pit. Couldn’t be happier to have been on this team, work with fellow Veteran’s and have @trailtherapyoffroad on the side of the buggy This was one for the books and we are just getting started.. @ King Of The Hammers - Hammer Town See more
