So where is that noisy train this morning? I've been hearing a horn for the past ten minutes or so ... it doesn't sound like it's moving fast, and it sounds like it's hitting grade crossing after grade crossing.

Here's a Tracy "Where Is It?" Shown is a Southern Pacific cab forward -- I think it might be AC-12 #4290 -- leading Train 472 into Tracy after a trip over Altamont Pass. Here's the question: what road is it crossing? I'm guessing either Corral Hollow Road (near Schulte) or Tracy Blvd. (which was known as Oil Road back then) near the big In-Shape Health Clubs facility. Any guesses? Photographer: John E.
