#Repost @rachllanes91 with @get_repost Collab with Jr.Shark’s Strength Coach @mduran88 pumped for the information we’ll be putting out for everybody not just athletes because for optimal sports performance you must optimize your health first. We are all athletes of life #Repost @mduran88 with @get_repost ... Training for optimal sports performance starts with prioritizing optimal health. In the short time that I’ve been in the strength and conditioning industry, I’ve been able to see a considerable amount of discrepancy in what is considered to be the most important factor(s) in maximizing sport performance. As a result, this post is going to be the start of consistent, informative posts that begin to outline the very relationship between holistic health and holistic performance. . . So, how do we bridge this gap? . . The three main factors to consider when trying to maximize performance and health are: 1. Nutrition - Making an objective decision to change dietary habits by reducing or elimating inflammatory foods 2. Mindset - managing stress and being aware of health 3. Activity level - implementing appropriate training and nutritional dosages to maximize performance and opposing these stressors by ensuring proper recovery, through getting high quality sleep. . . These habits are imperative for not just athletes’ performance, but for everyone seeking to lead a healthier lifestyle and be informed with necessary information to make informed decisions. Super excited to collaborate with @rachllanes91 on this series. . . Stay tuned for more, in-depth analysis of the topics included in this brief post. . . Any questions? Feel free to DM @rachllanes91 or I. We would love to help and continue the conversation!

Don’t just get better at drills, Improve foundational skills and understand how to execute them in games. #hockey #hockeytraining #skills #development #stayhome #staysafe #Repost @tpr.empower with @get_repost... Take a look at this video and see if you can spot the mechanical differences and in game applications of each variation. Comment with your answers and let’s start a dialogue. What do you think about during stick handling drills? What’s your intention with that drill? Why do we even stick handle in games? Are you conscious of the how your body is moving? You should be able to answer all these questions. Practicing with awareness creates neural pathways that will transfer to in game skills and limits meaningless reps in. Learning skills requires, at least, a basic understanding of everything you are doing. It is important to understand the mechanics of your movements In order to transfer each skill to tactical usage. Once you have learned the skill and the application, you can progress to an increase in speed, recall, and adaptability of that skill. Don’t forget to build a solid foundation before you get into harder drills. If you do this correctly with good posture, you’ll feel the burn. See more
