Toys delivered! Here are Harshita, Mark, Liza and Paul with toys for the RPL's "Toy Lending Library" on Friday, May3rd. Tonia Burton, Child Librarian, said that the toys *will* be available by interlibrary loan to the area libraries in the system! It may take a few weeks (?!) to get the toys catalogued (measured, described, electronically identified...) into the system, but keep checking! Feedback welcome! Let us know what you like, what works, and what you might want to see in the future!

Adapted Toys for the Rochester Public Library 'Toy Lending Library'!! At 2pm today, several students from the Toy Adaptation Program and I will be delivering 10 adapted toys--including 2 Elmos donated by the SW Rochester Rotary Club, 3 toys donated by Fisher-Price, toys donated during our toy donation drives and from Rochester's Pirate Toy Fund, and purchased with funds from the UR Student Association. Each toy comes with a simple button switch that activates one function o...f the toy. All original functions of the toy should still be present, but by plugging in any enabling switch into the universal plug, a child with limited motor function can interact and play with the toy, just like any child! Toys will be available through the Public Library's Toy Lending Library. Check with your local branch to see if you can get a toy through interlibrary loans! We hope the variety of toys appeals to your child! Enjoy!

A new 'toy' that the Toys for All Tots team will be working on! https://spectrumlocalnews.com//new-bubble-tower-supports-s# Chemical Engineering students developed this portable mini bubble tower for therapeutic use at Golisano Children's Hospital. At its 'unveiling' last Friday (Jan 25, 2019), the popularity of the device was undeniable. The hospital has requested additional units, which Toys for All Tots is going to make, based on the excellent report and specifications... written up by the original design team members (B Walker, C Ruff, T Dairo, B Porceng--in photo below). The team is currently pursuing potential mass production and marketing options through the Simon School. Let me know if you like one of these if it was commercially available (hopefully along the priceline of a lava lamp)--we can add to the market research base!
