HELP US HELP JAPAN. Every Wednesday in May and June, local restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Torrance Sister City Association special fund set up for our sister city of Kashiwa, Japan to assist those displaced from their homes in northern Japan seeking shelter in Kashiwa. Bunka-Sai is this weekend - April 30-May1 - at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. C'mon out for food, performances, great arts & crafts boutique of Japanese-Inspired gifts and clothing, exhibits and children's activities. TSCA is also collecting donations for their Japan Relief fund to benefit their sister city of Kashiwa - 100% of all donations go to Kashiwa. All proceed from Bunka-Sai go to the student exchange program. Even though Torrance students will not visit Kashiwa this year, we will welcome Kashiwa students in August! Torrance High School students are hosting a drive-through-and-donate fundraiser for Japan relief. Nom Nom and Coolhaus food trucks will donate a percentage of their profits to the American Red Cross for Japan.
