Based on the styling of Ford GT40, the Ford GT Heritage Edition was introduced in 2017, 2018 and 2019 on three different colour schemes : black with white stripes, red with white stripes and blue with orange stripes. To celebrate the four different LeMans-winning Ford GT40 from 1966 to 1969.... Another great Ford GT40 moment happened in Florida, 1966. The Daytona endurance race was extended to 24-hours length for the first time. Ford GT40 ended-up finishing a staggering 1-2-3-5 positions, with Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby winning the epic Daytona race once again. Upon 55 years of passing, Ford launched the 2021 Heritage Edition to celebrate this great Ford achievement. Based on the colour scheme of the no.98 1966 24 Hours of Daytona Ken Miles/Lloyd Ruby winning car. The white-paint base, red and black touch-ups was a simple yet effective functional design to differentiate between teams and drivers back in 1966. This is revived but with new meaningful ideas to serve as a homage in 2021. The result is a seamless binding between the past liveries and the present Ford GT body works, with bare carbon fibres on engine covers and racing number stickers.
