X-ray reality. . . This patient had an emergency appointment because he was having pain, an x-ray was taken and not much was found, a slight change can be noticed at the end of the root but nothing very clear. Dr. Madrigal suggested a CBCT (3D scan) to be able of gather extra information about the area of concern, and indeed, you can notice the big difference in the image and at this point the problem is very obvious. .... . CBCT is a game changer, since it allows us to see a 3D image of your mouth; instead of x-rays that are a 2D image of a 3D object (your mouth and teeth in this case). Your gums and jawbone are the foundation of your teeth . .... . Periodontitis is common but fairly preventable with good oral hygiene and regular cleanings.
