Longer days and warmer weather means more time outside for many Americans. While it’s prime grilling season, it’s also grill fire season. 1 out of 3 home grill fires is caused by a dirty grill.... Avoid these common mistakes to keep your barbeque from turning into a bonfire: 1. Skipping the Clean Up Dirty grills are the leading cause of grill fires. Food and grease particles in and on your grill can ignite, taking your grill up with them. 2. Getting Too Close Keep your grill 10 feet from your home and make sure there are no tree branches or awnings above the grill. 3. Stepping Away Never walk away from a lit grill. Unattended grills cause 600 home fires in the U.S. every year. #buyahome #realestate #tirealestateguy #tomivarsonrealestate #pleasantonrealtor #dublinrealtor #livermorerealtor #alamorealtor #becomeahomeowner #realestateagent #futurehomeowners #happythursday #timetomoveon #homebuyertips #buyahometoday

The health crisis has truly reshaped our lifestyles and our needs. Spending so much more time in our current homes has driven many people to reconsider what homeownership means and what they find most valuable in their living spaces. With a new perspective on homeownership, here are some of the reasons people are reconsidering where they live and making moves right now. 1. Working from Home... Remote work became the new norm, and for some, it’s persisting longer than initially expected. Many in the workforce today are discovering they don’t need to live so close to the office anymore and they can get more for their money if they move a little further outside the city limits. If you’ve tried to convert your guest room or your dining room into a home office with minimal success, it may be time to find a larger home. The reality is, your current house may not be optimally designed for this kind of space, making remote work very challenging. 2. Room for Fitness & Activities Staying healthy and active is a top priority for many Americans, and dreams of having space for a home gym are growing stronger. A recent survey of 4,538 active adults from 122 countries noted the three fastest-growing fitness trends amongst active adults: At-home fitness equipment (up 50%) Personal trainers/nutritionists (up 48%) Online fitness courses, classes, and subscriptions (up 17%) Having room to maintain a healthy lifestyle at home physically and mentally may prompt you to consider a new place to live that includes space for at-home workouts, hobbies, and activities for your household. 3. Outdoor Space Better Homes & Gardens recently released the outdoor living trends for this year, and three of them are: Outdoor Kitchens: 60% of homeowners are looking to add outdoor kitchens. Edible Garden: Millions of people began gardening during the pandemic . . . to supplement pantries with homegrown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Secluded Spaces: As outdoor activity increases, so does the need for privacy. You may not, however, currently have the space you need for these designated areas inside or out. If you’re clamoring for more room to accommodate your changing needs, making a move may be your best bet, especially while you can take advantage of today’s low mortgage rates. It’s a great time to get more home for your money, just when you need it most. #buyahome #realestate #tirealestateguy #tomivarsonrealestate #pleasantonrealtor #dublinrealtor #livermorerealtor #alamorealtor #becomeahomeowner #realestateagent #futurehomeowners #happytuesday #timetomoveon

There’s nothing quite as stressful as a bidding war over what you think is the house of your dreams. Just remember that if it doesn’t happen for you, it wasn’t meant to be. Our next FAQ is often a source of confusion when buying a home. Let me clear it up once and for all! Q: Can you show me any house on the market or only the ones you have listed? A: Any licensed real estate agent (that’s me!) can show ANY home that’s listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS)not just the ones they have listed. ... So while you’ll see an agent’s name and brokerage firm on the listing, that agent isn’t the only one who can show the home. (In fact, it’s advantageous NOT to use the listing agent. As a buyer, you need a dedicated advocate all your own. Not one already looking out for the seller.) See a home you like and want to schedule a showing? Stop thinking about it and get inside itsend me a message and let’s go check it out! #betterlatethannever #todaysoundsgood #todayisagoodday #buyahome #realestate #tirealestateguy #tomivarsonrealestate #pleasantonrealtor #dublinrealtor #livermorerealtor #alamorealtor #becomeahomeowner #realestateagent #futurehomeowners #happywednesday #timetomoveon

Over the past year, our homes have become an integral part of our lives more than ever. They’re much more than the houses we live in. They’re our workplaces, virtual schools, and safe havens that provide shelter, stability, and protection through the evolving health crisis. As we continue to think about the future, our goals for the year, and what we want to achieve well beyond 2021, it’s a great time to look at the benefits of owning a home. Non-Financial Benefits... Owning a home brings a sense of happiness, satisfaction, and pride. Pride of Ownership: It feels good to have a place that’s truly your own, especially since you can customize it to your liking. The personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment achieved through homeownership can enhance psychological health, happiness and well-being for homeowners and those around them. Civic Participation: Homeownership creates stability, a sense of community, and increases civic engagement. It’s a way to add to the strength of your local area and drive value into your neighborhood. Financial Benefits Buying a home is also an investment in your financial future. Net Worth: Homeownership builds your net worth. Today, the median household net worth of all homeowners is $254,900, while the median net worth of renters is only $6,270. Financial Security: Equity, appreciation, and more predictable monthly housing expenses are huge financial benefits of owning a home. Homeownership is truly the best way to improve your long-term financial position. Economic Benefits Housing-Related Spending: An economic force throughout our nation, housing-related expenses accounted for more than one-sixth of the country’s economic activity over the past three decades. Entrepreneurship: Homeownership is also a form of forced savings that can provide entrepreneurial opportunities. Owning a home enables new entrepreneurs to obtain access to credit to start or expand a business and generate new jobs by using their home as collateral for small business loans. Homeownership is a way to build financial freedom, find greater satisfaction & happiness, & make a substantial impact in your community. Call me today to get started!
