Double-checking my work after spending a really great hour with some #Brightworks students building up from a see-saw to a suspension bridge using cardboard, tape, string, and some nice hex-nuts. I’m putting together a structural engineering program that just uses household materials (you have big hex nuts in your kitchen drawer too, right?), and it’s been really fun thinking it through and then getting to try it. Hit my favorite physics book (the diagrams are so good!) to make sure I wasn’t too far off the mark when I started working out the force vectors.
