Time Well Spent Massage & Spa 09.11.2020

Hi all! Click on the image below to get the information regarding TWS re-opening! There are new guidelines and protocols that must be put in to place to adhere to the Dept. Of Health Service's and Gov. New's mandates, but while the setting may look and feel different, the benefits of massage will still be there!

Good evening everyone. I wanted to update you after Gov. Newsom's address today. The "watchlist" or "monitoring list" that counties had been placed on previously for a rise in their covid cases has been eliminated and replaced by a new 4 tiered, multi colored plan. Every county in California is assigned to a tier based on its rate of new cases and positivity. At a minimum, counties must remain in a tier for at least 3 weeks before moving forward. Data is reviewed weekly and t...iers are updated on Tuesdays. To move forward, a county must meet the next tier’s criteria for two consecutive weeks. If a county’s metrics worsen for two consecutive weeks, it will be assigned a more restrictive tier. Public health officials are constantly monitoring data and can step in if necessary So as you can see using the above statement from the covid19.ca.gov website, Sacramento County who is currently in the purple "Widespread" tier, will have to stay in that tier for a minimum of 3 weeks, BUT because a county must also meet the criteria of the next lower tier for 2 consecutive weeks before being allowed to move down (and thus open more businesses), it is unlikely that a county will move tiers after that mandatory 3 week period of time. To do so, would mean they are meeting that next lower tiers numbers after only 1 week, so that the last 2 weeks of their mandatory 3 week stay in a tier they are hitting that lower tier's numbers. Using their new plan, I think it is more likely that a county will stay in a tier for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. For example, if a county got it's new cases and positivity rates down to the next tier's levels after 2 weeks, they would still have to stay in their current tier for 2 more weeks to hit the "2 consecutive weeks" criteria... heaven forbid on that second week, they don't maintain that number, then they have to start their 2 weeks allover again. Because we are a minimum of 3 weeks out for any re-opening changes (and that would only be IF Sacramento County hit the Red Tier 3 number's after 1 week), Time Well Spent will not re-open in September. It is my sincerest hope that we will be allowed to reopen this year, but unfortunately with this new system, I don't think it's likely to happen. Massage is considered high risk and would most likely fall in the Orange/Yellow tier, which best case scenario would be 6-9 weeks away (if we got out of the purple and red tiers in the minimum time of 3 weeks each). This is a very trying time for everyone and I want to thank you for your support and patience. Please stay healthy and safe!

Good morning everyone. As I had mentioned in my last Covid update at the end of July, many non-essential businesses and services that had been allowed to re-open in July were shut back down indefinitely after the reopening showed a spike in Covid cases. Among those businesses shut were "personal care services" which include nails, esthecians, hair, and massage. While more recently the CA Dept of Health and Gov. Newsom did allow some personal care services to be re-started - a...s long as they did so in an outdoor setting - this did not include massage. At this time I am unable to provide you with a re-opening date as it is a very fluid situation. It is my sincerest hope that we will be allowed to reopen this year, but I fear as we head into flu/cold season, that he will elect to keep most of CA shut down until after the first of the year. I will keep you posted! This is a very trying time for everyone and I want to thank you for your support and patience as we all learn to live within our "new normal". Please stay healthy and safe! Hi all. In case you missed Governor Newsom’s announcement today, due to the rise in Covid 19 cases and hospitalizations, re-opening California has been halted with many non-essential services and businesses being shut down again indefinitely. Among those businesses that must close are personal care services which include massage. In light of this, Time Well Spent will NOT be opening on August 3rd as initially planned. At this time I am unable to provide you with a re-opening date. I will keep you posted! Please stay safe!

Burn update: when I’m sitting, I think I am doing great. Not to take away at all from how well the burns HAVE healed, But reality sets in when I stand for more than about 30-60 minutes. My right ankle and foot swells and throbs if I try to push myself. When sitting in my chair with my hand resting, it looks great. But if I have my arm to my side while standing or if I use my right hand too much, you can see how purple it still gets (unretouched photos). Each knuckle and joint in that hand is very sore. In researching it, there is something called hand contracture after burns that can cause joint pain due to the scars tightening the skin and tendons as the burns heal. Clearly I am not ready to try and return to the spa yet. This has been today’s PSA to order your kitchen fire extinguisher if you haven’t done so already!

Time Well Spent will re-open on August 3rd! I am looking forward to seeing everyone! While things may look different, and the requirements may seem stringent, please remember your safety and well-being is my top concern. Please see the attached letter that went out this week that outlines the new procedures and protocols as mandated by the Dept of Health Services and Gov Newsom.

Hi Everyone, I wanted to update you on the current status of Time Well Spent after Gov. Newsom's reveal regarding his 4 stage plan for re-opening CA. We are currently in Stage 2 of his plan... gyms, hair, nails, massage, and spas fall in to Stage 3 at varying times. Massage is supposedly late in Stage 3 because it is considered "high risk" because of the hands on touch factor and close face to face interactions in the room.. With that being said, Time Well Spent will remain c...losed throughout June and pray that Stage 3 happens in July. As if the virus were not enough though, I had an oil fire on May 15th and ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my right arm/hand and right ankle/foot. I am blessed and thankful it wasn't worse! But, my treatment, dressings, and healing are likely to go into July. I'm praying the stars line up and when the order is lifted for massage, that my healing is also completed, and we can all return to a normal life. I miss seeing everyone! I know once Time Well Spent can re-open there will be some significant changes to the operations - including temperature checks, masks for both of us, and other protective strategies yet to be announced. I will try to keep you all informed.

Stage 2 is weeks away, stage 3 and 4 are months not weeks away for lifting the stay at home order ... personal care (gyms, nails, hair, spa, MASSAGE) fall into stage 3! Looks like I am home for awhile. Let’s hope the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (unemployment for self employed individuals) that opened today processes the applications as fast as the said they would. The bad part of PUA is that it is not based on your salary the way unemployment is, PUA will be a flat $167 a week (plus the additional stimulus of $600 a week through July).

Please say a little prayer for me... with no end in sight for this stay at home order, I took the plunge today and joined the over 1,000,000 people in CA filing for unemployment this week. With the previously unaccepted self-employment status now being allowed and COVID 19 being a reason for the claim, I made the decision to submit a claim.

Good morning everyone, What a crazy time we are experiencing right now. I wanted to update everyone on the status of Time Well Spent Massage. As we approach the end of March, it is clear that California has not seen the worst of COVID 19 and the quarantine is looking more and more like it will last through April (at the very least). To that end, Time Well Spent will remain closed indefinitely. It is my sincere hope that we will be able to re-open in May.... Thank you very much to those clients that have purchased gift certificates during this shut down ... I can not express my gratitude to you enough! With the additional month of closure (and no income), I will be extending the gift certificate sale through April 15th. Please consider buying some for yourself, mother's day gifts, or gifts for your friends that you are missing during this quarantine. Also if you have not yet done so, please consider visiting my crafting pages and see if there is anything you'd like made. Now is a great time for custom orders. On facebook, it is Time Well Spent Crafting. On Etsy, it is Time Well Spent Crafts. For more information about COVID-19 and what you can do to keep healthy and safe, visit the Centers for Disease Control at cdc.gov or your local health department's website. Thank you for understanding during this stressful time. Stay healthy and safe!
