Santa Barbara began reopening businesses downtown over Memorial Day Weekend. Restaurants are now serving food and drinks to patrons outdoors along newly allowed patios up and down State Street since the road is now closed to cars from Sola to Haley Street. Santa Barbara April Market Update: Total number of sales were down 17% over last year at this time. No doubt the shelter in place order in March affected the number transactions, but once real estate was deemed essential business in April we quickly saw new listings and pending sales on the rise. We have adapted quickly offering virtual showings, digital meetings, and observed social distancing while showing property by appointment only. Despite the uncertainty, Santa Barbara median sales price only dropped 2% from last year at this time and our market remains strong. We took some time off as our family has grown. In February we were blessed with a healthy baby girl. Her name is Remington, but her friends call her Remi And we are currently happy to be back in the real estate game helping buyers and sellers achieve their goals during these unprecedented times.
