RIP White Jesus Think Tank Gallery is going down swinging. We’ll get into it more later, but 2020 is a year that is full of casualties and revelations. Our venue, for the second time in our decade within DTLA, is one of those casualties, and we’ve decided to donate our 10yr Anniversary to one such revelation. We’ve handed over the reins of our platform to artist-comedian-filmmaker @HishamFageeh of @creativeartistsagency. He’s assembled some incredible talent for his projec...t that seeks to attack White Supremacy at its roots: White Jesus. The project is multi-tiered, but to start we are helping him launch an augmented reality-enhanced art book titled RIP White Jesus, curated by @tatum.hawkins and glitched out by @markdigitalhd. The project takes statements from The Creator, Hisham, informed by relevant mistranslations of Scripture from Aramaic thru modern English renditions, and deconstructs them through AR enhancements via smartphones on @eyejackapp. Viewers are disallowed from further witnessing Aryan Jesus as expressed through historic tools of oppression by our modern devices of enlightenment. You can read more about the project at the Forbes exclusive in our bio, and also purchase the book. 100% of Think Tank’s proceeds will go to our immigrant landlords whose American Dream is at risk of dissolving. There are certainly more important things to worry about in 2020 than saving venues around the nation, but we feel the pain of any who have lost theirs. #SaveOurStages and #WeMakeEvents are campaigns that touch our hearts in a special place, as many around the nation have lost their DIY locations like ours, and after a ton of renovations we will have an announcement headed your way shortly in this regard. COVID hit much, much harder than Ghost Ship and a massive part of our i...ndustry’s culture will not survive. That said, in the meantime we have been silently hustling in the background to support a variety of much more important causes since we last posted anything here. Yo, it's been a while! 2020 stormed in like a bat out of hell and here we are! NEW VENUE AVAILABLE IN DTLA... We spent the holidays and the first couple months of the new decade renovating our venue and taking on some massive work with new and old clients. Mainly because of those two things, you probably won't be seeing much original programming from us in the immediate future. Instead, you'll see a ton of bigger stuff that we're supporting through production work and beyond. In this mode, we're looking to rent out or even create a sublet/residency scenario at for our brand new, very customizable venue for shoots, events, art installations, build sites and more. We've got a lot of outside work going on but want to ensure there are still cool things happening here in the meantime. Message us for details or check our page for a full location package. We’ve been holed up in the lab preparing for the biggest @designercon of all time. All year we’ve been cooking up some heat in every corner of the con, and we’re excited to start teasing it! This year’s panel stage is presented by the @ntwrk and designed by @berkvisual who has a cleannnn video piece dropping on some otherworldly TV installations.
