We want to take a quick moment to make you aware of a special cause we are beginning to fundraise for - The Grange: Creator Kitchens and Microfarms for At-Risk and Foster Youth here in LA. We know that barriers are broken when people come together for a common cause. We also know that land, water, and air quality are restored when we practice carbon sequestration and regenerative farming. The goal for this project is to restore the Earth as well as the connecti...ons we have as humans - all starting here at home in LA. Our Farm Educational Event Center provides the platform for breaking the cycle of disconnection and destruction for both humans and earth. Our programming will create a comprehensive, land-based approach to trauma therapy, wellness, and education specifically focusing on at-risk and foster youth. Many of our teachers and students at The Yogi Tree have been practitioners of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Since the publication of Premka: White Bird in a Golden Cage in January 2020, the 3HO/SDI kundalini community has been in a tailspin over allegations of rape, sexual battery, harassment and corruption by Yogi Bhajan. How are we to respond to such horrific abuses as a community and as individuals? The findings of the independent investigation from An Olive B...ranch (which was not a criminal investigation and also was limited in its scope and purpose) were released last week. The report concluded that more likely than not, Yogi Bhajan engaged in sexual and related misconduct. Graphic, violent details describe Yogi Bhajan as a rapist, a sociopath, a predator, an abuser, and a hypocrite. He engaged in unethical behavior and inappropriate sexual activity with students, staff, and children, including one reported case of a four-year-old girl. Ours is not the first or only spiritual community to face the aftermath of a fallen leader. Where do we go from here?
