This year has been especially hard for many people in our community. Sierra Community House is a local organization that supports the Tahoe/Truckee communities with resources including hunger relief, family services, crisis intervention and more. Any contribution can help make a positive difference in someone’s life this season. Donate to this cause through the Yoga Room’s campaign link shown below. And thank you! https://sierra-community-house.networkforgood.com//118838-

Thanksgiving is looking a little different this year. We are missing loved ones who live far away and wishing we could give a warm hug to our friends. This Thursday, we have an opportunity to join together and feel the gratitude and love within the Yoga Room community. This Thanksgiving at 9am, join Heather for a virtual Gratitude Flow. This is a donation-based class, so show your love for your community by donating. We suggest $10, but any amount will help. ALL PROCEEDS will go to benefit our neighbors at Tahoe Art Haus. Please share this post with friends and family so we can virtually spread the love for our community. Click the link in our bio or go to yogaroomtahoe.com to sign up. You will be emailed a link to the class the day of or sooner. Thank you! #giveback #yoga #community #together #sharethelove #thanksgiving

Piece of Yoga, Peace of Mind Violences large and small are committed each and every day; how we treat our loved ones, ourselves, how we treat those we may have animosity towards, and mostly those who we don’t understand. This time has been confusing to me and it is difficult to communicate and understand where I personally fit in. Do you feel the same? Is in-action worse than action? Personally I have found solace in doing/not-doing what I feel is true for me, not what other...s are doing or telling me what I should do. This is a tricky place in our world of sharing + social media and I have found myself pulled by the crowd and then I pull back in attempt to find myself again. No, practicing yoga doesn’t mean that you are solving the world’s issues. It lets you navigate such issues with awareness and sense of self. It allows you to know what’s yours and what isn’t. It reminds you to notice, without judgement, how you could move with more grace, ease and peace in order to undo all the doings around us, and come from love. Love for ourselves, for one another, our environment and even love for all of the things that bring up our shit. I encourage you to check in now, and all of the time. Am I speaking from a place of love? Do my actions reflect my heartfelt truth? How do I feel in my body when I don’t speak, act or be authentically? Is there a way for me to understand that which I have the most resistance to? Can I forgive, myself and others? How does it feel to know that everyone is doing their best, including me? Can I respect myself, my neighbor/co-worker/friend/boss even more? How do small lies and lack of awareness of my actions/ inactions make me feel? In our practice, we come to awareness. Awareness then action. I see the words of violence everywhere and I choose to replace them with loving mantra. I am not an anti-racist, I am a lover of peace. I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a peace rally, invite me. -Mother Teresa With Peace + Love, Jenna

Let us sit upon the bed of the forest And pray with the light that breaks through the branches Let’s give up resistance to the wind and let our hairs rise + blow alongside the leaves What if we held the wings, heavy from migration, as the Jays deliver seeds, dropped in earthworm tilled soil How would my pen write without ink or paper you ask?... By surrendering to this pause By seeing what has been given By navigating each item I take back to its roots Let us absorb the warm sun + celebrate the dark night Together as kins, as clans, as tribes untitled, as songs with melodies of heart Today shall name the unspoken In breaths + out Survival replaced by thrive I promise to ask you what you need And how to love you better In hopes that someday my love can give as gracefully As the gift of your branches bathed by light. To ensure your health and safely, we have cancelled today’s wellness clinic. . We understand that wellness is more important now than ever, and invite you to tap into your own wellness practices at home. . Find some time to ground, to breathe, to meditate. Take a bath. Drink lots of water, maybe a cup of hot tea. ... . We also sent out an email regarding a few more protocols we are implementing to ensure health and safety for our Yoga Room family, so be sure to check that out. . Sending love and strength to all of you! . See more
