To assist you during this time of need, we have developed a FREE, ONLINE certif...icate for employees and associates who have lost their jobs, had their hours reduced, or simply wish to continue learning while we are experiencing tumultuous times. The hospitality & tourism program at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is rated Top 30 by https://thebestschools.org. For over a decade, we have offered an "Executive Education Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Management"at a reasonable cost of $900. The 30-contact-hour certificate has been well received, strongly attended, and has helped many move ahead in their hospitality careers. I personally started in this industry at the age of 14. Along with many of you, I have weathered many crises during my hospitality career path. Yet, none of us has experienced anything quite like this. Our goal is to help you persist through this incredibly rough period with a gesture of goodwill by offering a high-quality certificate from one of the best-rated programs in the nation. Never forget ... our fantastic hospitality & tourism industry is resilient: from the 1970s gas crisis, 1980s stock market crash, 1990s, Persian Gulf War, 2000s SARS, 9/11, global recession, to 2020's COVID-19. We WILL bounce back. It takes a community of support and ongoing connections and education to do so. This is why I put this program together. SOME CERTIFICATE INFORMATION The certificate has been redesigned to 15 contact hours (1). The certificate will be featured fully online and will have both specific times (Eastern U.S. Daylight Savings Time) for watching the live recordings AND/OR the ability to watch them at any time once they are recorded. We realize that many of you are across multiple time zones and personal and business obligations that may arise during our scheduled live recordings (2). Your attendance and completion will be measured via short quizzes after each session. This will permit you to demonstrate your learning (3). Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to proudly display and list on your resume (4). There are no formal admissions requirements; you must simply register (see below) (5). And, thanks to our multiple donors over the years, we are able to provide you with this opportunity for $0 cost (6). Any level of hospitality and tourism professional - from the newest entry-level staff member to CEO - may participate. And, we hope you do! The topics have broad appeal and stretch across important content areas. The goal is to keep you engaged, actively focused, and occupied in a positive manner through lifelong learning.
