Sometimes Immature Believers do more Damage than Good: In life we have two different types of Christiansmature and immature. While it is the goal for us to a...ll grow to become mature, sadly many believers remain like little children. This is particularly bad because other Christians, and even non-christians, tend to look at these people, and it can reflect very poorly on Christ. Some areas that I can think about where they don't reflect Christ is in the area of sensitivity, humility, and understanding. Often times someone will give their life to Christ, and because they have become very passionate about what they believe, and because they haven't been humbled and tempered by suffering, their delivery and attitude toward other people can be smug, rude, abrasive, harsh, and just flat-out ugly. And because they don't have the wherewithal to discern whether they are in errorin addition to them having the tendency to discount and dismiss even the judgement and correction of older and far more learned Christiansthey remain unchanged and just assumed that the problem lies with those 'less-than-spirtual-believers,' and not with them. Any challenging or correcting them, their responses are as follows: "the spiritual babes won't understand..." "they oppose what I'm saying because I'm a true martyr..." "I have true spiritual understating, but they're just blind..." and many other absurd claims. In reality, it's these people that are the problem, not those correcting them. I think what happens is they haven't lived long enough in Christ and haven't experienced enough suffering. It's easy for a white-hot believer to come fresh into Christ and begin offering "instant-can-cures" to every problem because they just read the book of Proverbs, assuming they're wisdom is adequate to speak to every situation. It isn't always the case that they lack the knowledge, per say; rather, it's their lack of conditioning that often renders their knowledge null, or else, leaves the person they seek to minister to end up rejecting what they have to say. However, once you have suffered awhile; once you've seen families weep over their dead loved ones in a casket, after having prayed, "God, raise the dead," but the person remains dead; once you've seen families break up because one of the spouses backslide and cheats on their partner; once you've seen friends you loved very deeply go insane after frying their brains due to meth; once you have listened to hours of some saints venting because they're hooked on porn, or sexual sin, or just are flat out lonely; once you've seen some people in the church having to deal with their very ill and sickly little child, it has a way of causing you to think twice about what you say and how you say it. When you have suffered long, it has a way of breaking you down and having compassion on those who are suffering and who are stuck in sin, too.

His arms were so long, I could no longer roam; From his love, I could not depart. His arms were so long, I could no longer roam; From his love, I could not depart.

If men must go to hell by their own will, may it not be without our hearts full of anguish, mouth full of prayers, and our eyes full of tears! If men must go to hell by their own will, may it not be without our hearts full of anguish, mouth full of prayers, and our eyes full of tears!

Are You Helping Struggling Saints? I remember in the world, if someone was messing with one of my homeboys, as I would say back then, "it was fades on sight." ...This isn't anything to be proud in, but I can recall starting rumbles and fights for someone messing with someone I cared about. I know that some of you can say the same. If you can admit this, understand it is to our shame. Nonetheless, can we also be able to confess, not with shame, but with great joy, that when one of our close brothers or sisters are struggling and getting beat up by the devil and sin, you dive headlong into that trouble, risking your own safety, all to rescue that dear saint? Make sure you're helping your hurting brothers and sisters more than you've helped your home boys and home girls in the world. "Hereby will all men know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (Jesus our Lord).

Speaking the Word Immaturely! Being uncompromising in preaching against sin is a good thing. However, when you preach against sin, even if it’s done in truth,... but you do it with a mean, harsh, smug, or an insensitive disposition and heart that cannot be touched with the feelings of their infirmities, you pollute that refreshing water of the word with bitterness, making it more difficult for other people to drink therefrom. Humility is about having the proper estimate of one’s self. Some think too much of themselves. But also, there are some that think too less of themselves. To be truly humble, we must not be guilty of either.Humility is about having the proper estimate of one’s self. Some think too much of themselves.
