At the Sun Gallery, each year we have a scholarship fund for children that cannot afford to attend art camp. If you would like to help we have a donate button here with this post. Any money raised through this directly funds our scholarship program. We are hoping to send 2 children to camp this year, each for a week. Scholarships are given to local students that would otherwise not be able to attend camp. The Sun Gallery is a 501c3 non-profit organization that has been serving our community for 46 years now :)

He will get the Annual Haunted Dollhouse Trophy and will receive a $50 gift certificate to Michael’s, and a few other surprises There’s still time too see the Haunted Displays this Weekend. Saturday and Sunday 11-3 Treats and Crafts with safe Social Distancing. All who come by will receive a FREE GELLY ROLL PEN (1 per person) STAY SAFE WEAR A MASK HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Come and have some fun at the Sun on Sat. Oct. 31st Halloween Day! Between 11-3 on Sat. Oct. 31, the Sun Gallery will be open for trick and treaters of all ages. Come on down and check out our Haunted Dollhouse Exhibit, snag a treat and then make a necklace -or- do some crafts in our crafts room!... Also, every guest visiting on Sat. will recieve a free Stardust Gelly Roll pen!! Between 1-3 Christine Bender will be teaching rock painting in the courtyard, using acrylic paints and markers. All materials and crafts are free and all ages are welcome. We are also practicing social distancing to keep everyone safe, and we ask that you bring a mask as well. See you tomorrow!

Good afternoon everyone!! As Alameda County begins to loosen some restrictions, the Sun Gallery is gently re-opening with your safety in mind. We'd like to gauge how you are feeling about our upcoming White Elephant Sale fundraiser that we plan on having in about a month. How likely are you to come visit with safety precautions in place? There is no right or wrong answer here, we respect all of you and are just wanting to get an idea of how many of you would venture forth to visit. Sun Gallery is waiting for you

As you may know, the Sun Gallery has an annual Evening for the Arts Gala at Hayward City Hall around this time. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we use the proceeds for our children's programs and climate change education. This year in lieu of not being able to have our Gala due to Covid-19, the Board of Directors has opted to have a White Elephant Sale event inside the gallery. We are currently at the ability to have 25% capacity (guests) and soon will be at 50...% capacity. We will of course be requiring masks per state guidelines and using social distancing. If you would like to help us setting this up, sponsoring, volunteering or donating gently used or new art, household items, painted delights or vintage items??? for regifting and repurpose please let us know. We can also use gift certificates, vouchers and any other imaginative thing you can think of! The dates will be announced soon and those on our email list will also be getting a short newsletter on this. We thank all of you for hanging in there with us, it's been a rough year for all of us, but one thing we all know is that art, creativity and imagination never ends!! And with that being said, we have done some very out of the box thinking since resuming work and we have some amazing new news to share with you soon!
