We are excited about the upcoming classes we have scheduled, make sure to sign up for them, to show our amazing teachers your support for all of the years they have put into designing classes for your creative enjoyment. We are still collecting gently used craft items for donating. They will be picking up the items on August 20th. ... We are now scheduled to close on Monday August 20th. We will then be open on Friday August 25th, for you to come in, craft if you'd like, have some cake, chat with friends, and celebrate our friendships that we have all built. We are excited to include Art therapy into our daily services, Art has the ability to inspire people and make them see things from a different perspective. Whether it’s painting a portrait, creating a card for someone special, journaling, writing a story or playing a piece of music, art stimulates the brain and encourages positive actions in people’s lives. For those recovering from substance abuse, a creative form of self-expression can be an important step in sobriety. Through artistic expression, people are able to communicate thoughts, ideas or fears in a way that verbal communication is sometimes incapable of. They could even discover something about themselves they didn’t know. Behavioral Health Services/ NCADD would like to thank The Stamp Addict and it’s owners Roxanne and Walt for their very generous donation of art supplies you have helped changed the lives of those suffer from addiction along with their families. We want to let all of you know that Walt and I have made the painful decision to close our store. The Stamp Addict. It was a rough decision, one we have prayed about for several months, the numbers do not support us keeping our store open, and with the changing industry and more and more people shopping online, it no longer makes sense for us to fight this battle. I know many of you have spent time in our store, taking classes supporting our amazing selection of teachers,... supporting our store by shopping here, and supporting me, and the dream I have had to create a store where everyone has fun, is welcome to be creative and just spend time, gathering here and making friends. I feel like I have made many many many great friends. Thank you, all of you, for sharing your creative spirits with us on this fun filled adventure. When we bought the store I knew that I had a "vision" of how it would look, with ladies, and some gentlemen, coming in, creating, chatting, building relationships while we crafted. That vision has been far surpased by the reality. I feel like friendships have been built here that will last a lifetime. Friends that can, and often do, share our hearts, our successes, our losses and so much laughter, and tears at times too. Together, we have all grown, learned, and become better friends, better wives, better parents, and better overall. Our discussions cover every topic, nothing has been off limits, and we have all learned so much from each other. The people we have met will forever be in our thoughts, our hearts, our prayers. Thank you to everyone who been a part of our journey here. I am grateful for your sharing, your advice, your time, and your energy that you have given to us. Our last day at the store will be Sunday August 26 - we will be having various sales over the next several weeks to clear out all of our merchandise. Thank you Walt & Roxanne
