Today we did a little memorial service for Cindy who passed a couple of weeks ago. According to Danny, this was the only service given for her. I want us to gather to celebrate the life of Cindy. Cindy was called home after going to the ER and having emergency surgery twice and she passed during recovery of the second surgery. I have known Cindy for many years. The thing I saw in Cindy was her caring heart. Cindy had the gift of helps and was always there to help those ...who were disabled and in need. I know her of helping people on the streets and those not, as a care giver. I know that Cindy accepted Jesus as her savior. I remember a year ago she had us pray for her as there were concerns that she may have cancer and we celebrated when results showed she was cancer free. Cindy struggled with addiction but fought this battle courageously. Addiction is a process of buying into false and empty promises; the false promise of relief, the false promise of emotional security, the false promise of fulfillment, and the false sense of intimacy with the world. Addiction is about filling the hole in the soul, the chronic ache that all addicts have in common. (Craig Nakken) For years, Cindy fought this demon. It’s not an easy battle. So, I say that Cindy was courageous as she refused to stay defeated. While this is a hard time as we mourn the loss of Cindy, it is also a time of celebration as we celebrate her memories, she left with us and that she is going to have eternal life without this battle with her demon. In John 3:16, the scripture reads: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall have eternal life. Jesus took all her sins on him when he died on the cross so that she could have eternal life. Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Salvation is a gift and this was done through Christ’s death on the cross to pay for our sins, not His. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone of us sins and fall short. Ephesians 2:8 says, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God" Salvation is not achieved by works, it is a gift. For you who are mourning and particularly, you, Danny, we mourn with you. In Matthew 5:4 it says, Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. The Holy Spirit is our comforter. Call on the Holy Spirit to help you through this time. We're going to miss you Cindy!

Today in the park, feeding the homeless. They said they have not been offered shelter during this pandemic. In fact, some of their friends had their tents and property taken by the homeless taskforce and told to get walking.

Today out at the park, we were blessed to see Russell after a long time with him not coming. Found out that he's now blessed with two jobs and therefore works on the weekend. Russell took today off and thought he'd come see if we're still coming to the park. Praise God! We had a new person come, Mark, who asked to pray blessings back on us for what we do. Tommy is still working and off the streets. William was back for a visit and so was Daniel, amongst others. Pray that God will work in these people's lives!
