The SHARE Institute

The SHARE Institute funded Action for Community Development in Tanzania to provide small grants to refugee widows to start businesses. The project was successful, and there was more demand than funding available.

In 2020, The SHARE Institute funded Shape Lives International in Ghana to improve maize production and harvesting techniques. The project was a major success, and women and their families benefited.

The SHARE Institute donated several items to the Sacramento Children’s Home’s nursery. Some of the items included blankets, baby cups, drawing materials for toddlers, and other items. The interns helped put the bags together and they were donated this week.

The Cameroon group ESARDEF trained 39 undereducated girls and women in organic gardening. The women were able to produce food for their families' consumption as well as to sell at the local market. The girls and women also intend to each train 3-4 others in the skills they learned.

Today, a team consisting of ten volunteers from AmeriCorps worked on weeding the SHARE gardens. Some of the beds were hard to weed. I am grateful to these young people who carry out these hard tasks that enable us to feed the needy in the Spring.
