Seven Gables Inn

Friday the family descendants of Benjamin A Lee, the second family that owned the Inn property, dropped by the Inn for a visit. They told me that Benjamin built the Green Gables Inn property for his wife Harrietta. Later they moved into the Inn property when they inherited the property from Lucy & Henry Chase the second family to purchase Seven Gable Inn. The home passed down to Roger Lee, who contacted John Flatley, Sr. He was offered the home four time to purchase and only came down the last time. Dad had been a flipper of properties in town and was known for quality work. Dad already owned Green Gables and had a property on the ocean, so he felt he didn't need a second oceanfront property.

Luxurious, relaxing first stay. Such a romantic bed & breakfast! We loved the ambiance. Will stay there again & highly recommend.

As Fall approaches the whale watching season continues until mid-December. VIA Magazine lists the 9 places to see whales along the Pacific Coast: "BIG SUR Along the curvy stretch of Highway 1 that hugs California’s Central Coast, almost every turnout offers an excellent place to see mother grays with their young in winter, and view playful humpbacks from late spring through early fall." Almost daily whale-watching boats leave from Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey for an upfront and very close visit with these behemoths. Just in front of Seven Gables in the calm waters of Monterey Bay we have sighted whales all summer long.
