Today we would like to congratulate our brother, Eddie Drake, for completing his 1-year commitment at The River's Edge Ranch! "Before coming to The Ranch, I struggled with my addiction for over 40 years. I was living in my trailer, and my dog was the only thing that loved me. I had no future or hope. When I decided to come to The Ranch, I was instantly blown away by the men's testimonies. Hearing how they managed to get clean and sober by the power of the Holy Spirit inspire...d me to try and do the same. This year journey has not been easy. There were some times when I wanted to leave, but The Lord kept me strong and guided me to stay on the narrow path. Today, my heart is full of love, and all I want to do is help the men just as I was helped when I first arrived. Now, I see that I do have a future. God has opened so many doors for me and I'm so grateful for everything He has done and is continuing to do in my life! By His grace, I have become a success story which I hope will inspire many others who are ready to change their lives. I would like to give a special thank you to my sister Lynette for never giving up on me, Joe Mayner for putting up with me and always offering his guidance and words of wisdom, to Doug Whiteman and the rest of the board, and to every person who has been by my side since I embarked on this journey. I am beginning to improve physically and spiritually, and my memory is getting better every day. I love being at The Ranch and being around good men who are also trying to fix their lives. Two of our brothers, Braham and Kristian, recently gave their first Bible studies at The Ranch! Braham gave a study on the Book of Hebrews, and Kristian spoke on the Book of Galatians. For Braham, speaking to a large group of men was something he feared. However, Braham has grown so much during his time here and confidently taught the Word of God to all of the men! Kristian grew up on the streets, and never in a million years did he think he would be standing in front of a g...roup of men preaching the Word of God. This week, Kristian gave an excellent study and testimony about the work God is doing in his life. God has used both of these men as vessels to preach the Good News and glorify His name! This weekend, the men at Phase 3 spent the day at the beach. They BBQ’d, swam, and ended the night in worship! Our tractor is one of the most important pieces of equipment we have at The Ranch. It is used every single day. Some of the many purposes it serves include clearing the cow field, getting dirt for our horse stalls, and unloading large bales of hay. It is crucial that we can rely on the tractor working in order to complete our tasks. However, our tractor is hanging on by a thread, and just keeping it up and running has become a full-time job in and of itself. There is no vlog today. Instead, take a look at a small new project going on at The Ranch. The door of our horse conex is old and broken. Thankfully, we have our brother Chris who is fabricating a new one. Chris is an excellent welder and is making a new door completely from scratch. When it’s finished, the new door will be a permanent addition to The Ranch and will allow us to keep our saddles, horse brushes, and other horse equipment safe! #theriversedgeranch #secondchances

3 Month Update! This week our house guy, Rudy, will be completing his 3rd month at The Ranch! I came to The Ranch because I was tired of running from God and I knew that being on the streets wasn’t my calling. I have a family that cares about me, and making the decision to come to The Ranch was a life or death choice. During my stay here, I’ve been taking it one day at a time and God has been moving in my life. He is blessing me constantly and restoring the relationships i...n my family. The Ranch would like to congratulate our social media guy, Brad, for completing his one year commitment today! Brad has been a blessing to The Ranch in many ways. He has a way of always putting a smile on both the brother’s and guest’s faces. Because of his hard work and dedication to the social media and the brothers, the men and their families have been able to stay better-connected as a result of the vlogs and frequent posts. Last night, Water of Life Community Church had its 14th annual Men’s Conference: Real Men Stay In The Race. We worshipped, heard incredible testimonies, and listened to powerful messages from Jerry Musgrove and Pastor Dan about the importance of discipline in both our physical and spiritual lives!
