Hi y'all, it's Wayne. Therapy stores is pleased to once again donate $5000.00 to Walk Out of Darkness, this time in the memory of Greg Escalante, founder of Ju...xtapoz magazine. Although we never got a chance to meet this guy, we have art in our home that he sold us, and he had greatly enriched our lives. As the co-founder of Therapy Stores, and someone who lives with bi-polar, this is a very important and personal event for me and my family. So now you know why we call it Therapy Stores! Every 13.3 minutes, someone takes their own life, causing it to be the forth largest cause of death in America. We donate 1% of all of our sales annually to food banks, AIDS walk, Walk out of the darkness, local underfunded public schools through adopt a classroom, and other charities. We would not be able to do this donation annually, (or any of our other donations) without the hard work of all our co-workers, our suppliers and most importantly, you, our customers. So we are most grateful for all the support you've shown us for all these years. If you have time, there is a walk out of darkness event in San Jose Ca. 10/22. We'll post a link in the comments. It was such a heartwarming surprise to receive these letters from Ms. Parker and her students in the mail! Here at Therapy, 1% of all sales year-round are donat...ed to various charities, which includes Adopt A Classroom. Without you, this wouldn't be possible and we want to thank you for the continual support! Together, we've helped over 250 local classrooms and will help more students this year! Thank you! See more

Well, here we are. To those of you who are willing to leave the house today, we'll be open. On a day like this, a store called Therapy has to be open. Today we... can celebrate in our own way. We can celebrate the diversity of our nation of immigrants. We can celebrate the freedoms we enjoy that billions around the world envy. We can celebrate the fact that every four years, we get another chance to try and get it right. We can celebrate that love is not illegal, that compassion is not unconstitutional and that respect is an inherent part of our culture. There is much to be concerned over, but as a nation we've encountered larger challenges and prevailed. The glass may be half empty, but it's also half full. Disagreement has been the word of the day here in America since it started, and regardless of who was being sworn in today, a whole bunch of people would be unhappy about it. Win, lose or draw, we're here for you. If you are our customer, we love you. If you are our supplier, we love you. If you are our co-worker, we love you. If you are our competitor in business, we love you. Regardless of what your politics are, or religious beliefs are, whatever differences we may have, we love you all. Until we don't. Until you decide my gay friends can't marry. Until you decide my friends of color's lives don't matter. Until you take away my daughter's right to choose. I could go on and on but I think we understand each other here. It's day one, time to give this guy the benefit of the doubt until day two. Have a piece of chocolate, call a friend and tell them that you love them and that you're going to Therapy, they may not understand, and y'all can have a good laugh. Today, we join you in celebrating the life of a great man. Just think, would we have the world we have today without him? Obama would not have been our President, so many things have happened after his death that were directly attributed to his life's work and his actions. We should put this guy on the hundred dollar bill, we should carve him into Rushmore, we should do more than take the day off, we should honor his life of activism, follow his example of true christian i...deal of loving all. The only thing to overcome hate is love, isn't that what he said? Think about that for a second- how difficult is it for us to love someone who is hating on us? Not easy right? He did it- daily. I'm sad we live in a world where he had to pick that torch up and carry it for so many others. I'm glad he did. Later this week we'll say goodbye to our first African American President and watch him give the keys to the country to a guy who might just set us back a bit in terms of civil rights. When we protest, let's do it peacefully, when we disagree, let's take a page from MLK's playbook and do it with Love and not hate. Let's acknowledge that he never gave up in the face of adversity. Let us honor his life, and ultimately his sacrifice for man and country, by holding fast to his ideals. See more

Wow, here it is, New Years Eve already! I'm not sure about y'all, but I am most surely ready to put 2016 to bed! With so many of our favorite artists passing, ...disappointments in the political arena, a world with so much struggle for many, it's hard to imagine what it might be like for a family fleeing violence in the Middle East tonight, and how much more blessed we may be than others. Thanks to your continued support this year, we've been able to donate $20,000 to food banks, $15,000 to local charities and $65,000 to local school teachers in needy school districts. None of which would have been possible without your participation, and we thank you. We hope to see you in the stores and if you're reading this, thank you and Happy New Year! See more
