San Jose has been looking to add an iconic structure and the 963 submissions have been narrowed to 47, and they are amazing! https://www.urbanconfluencesiliconvalley.org/ccp47
We hope this post finds you well and safely at home. Although the hotel is closed while we all #StayatHome, we are still working hard to prepare for the inevit...able return to normalcy. During this time, it has been entertaining to hear of all the "challenges" or mishaps that are occurring while being live and on-camera as we shift to virtual meetings. Here are some tips and tricks to keep you from being the "talk of the meeting". Ready - Report your absence or tardiness as to not have others await your arrival - Dress for success (from the waist up) - Check your connection - Check for pending software updates - Find the quietest place available (pets are typically not part of the call) - Choose a steady and sturdy surface. A desk or counter, use books or a box to achieve the elevation - Decide what you want to share about your life - what is on camera behind you? - Familiarize yourself with the platform options such as enhance your image or set a virtual background - Don't rely on sunlight - set your light source directly in front of you - NOT below, above or behind - Set your angle so that the camera is directly in front of you at eye level - Have an agenda or have requested one - Sound check for speakers and volume, ideally headphones and a mic to eliminate outside noise - Find that MUTE button and understand how it works - Finish any snacks or beverages. Don't eat or drink on camera Set - Make your connection, ten minutes before the start of the call - State your name clearly and immediately, do not wait for a break in any existing chit chat - MUTE THE CALL NOW - Check again that you are muted Go - Maintain your angle - resist leaning in or leaning back - sit up straight - No Sneaking out - If you need to speak, wait to be called on by the moderator, avoid talking over another participant - When you do speak state your name again, re- introduce yourself, especially with many attendees - When you are not part of the dialogue, SILENCE IS GOLDEN Brought to you by your friends at the Plaza Suites Hotel Silicon Valley and Prime Restaurant Silicon Valley Tele Presence Etiquette.
While Supplies Last! As we prepare to re-open and get the team back to work, we are proud to offer 50% off for stays through June 2021. http://www.theplazasuites.com/
