Were honored to be invited to be keynote speakers at Vue.js Amsterdam 2020. Since late 2007, The Microtechs has lead the way in pioneering the building blocks of the web. We’re pleased to be recognized internationally by our friends and colleagues over the pond, and recognized for our contributions to the future of smart, lightweight and state-of-the-art user design. While we are not able to attend this year, we look forward to representing California and the Silicon Valley in the years to come. And, to our valued partners in the EU and UK, I would enthusiastically support you representing us by proxy. Vue.js is the future, and the future is now #vuejs

Lots of new features have been added in the latest update of our front end design system and the Builder visual editor. You can now choose multiple items from the media library when you create a gallery, grid, buttons or lists. You can even select all items in a folder. This is a real time-saver if you have a huge gallery. Image galleries, photos, videos and more can be be added all at once. Other improvements include sticky mobile nav options, prevention of overwriting your work with multiple admins working on your site at once, and reorganized settings for external services.

Identifying business scams in the online world can be just as tricky as the scams themselves. Over the last ten years, they’ve gotten progressively more sophisticated. Take a look at the emails / text messages I received this morning. Here are some key ways we identify business scams: 1. It doesn’t come from a business email address. Be wary of any business owner that’s using a gmail, yahoo, aol or other personal email service. This is especially true if the business name is ...not in the email. Yes, sometimes legitimate business owners will use a non professional address, but it’s a red flag nonetheless. 2. Look for a signature in the email. Real businesses want you to be able to contact them and get back to them. They are proud of their business and usually want to mention and promote it any chance they get. 3. Offering above market rate, being unconcerned with costs or seemingly willing to spend large amounts of money without much or any discussion or meetings. This is perhaps the biggest red flag of all. No matter how successful, no business owner is unconcerned with cost. 4. Asking if you accept credit card payments. Very few businesses won’t accept a credit card payment, but this is indicator that they are concerned with paying a specific way that just so happens to be the go-to method for scams. 5. Several similar suspicious clients or customers at once. 6. Sending text messages rather than a phone call or email. 7. A generic phone number, especially if it connects to Google voice. 8. Odd language, or specifically mentioning the English language as a preference.

At $34,000,000,000, The acquisition of Linux becomes the largest in history. Linux powers our state-of-the-art Content Management System solutions, like Joomla and WordPress. It’s the L in LAMP, and the smoothest running and most reliable platform for php & MySQL. Hopefully, this means we will or longer have to work with Microsoft databases when integrating solutions with cloud services like SharePoint or Microsoft CRM.
