On September 20, 1998 Cal Ripken Jr. walked into his manager office to notify him that he wanted out of the lineup. This ended the major leagues' longest consecutive-games streak at 2,632. Cal Ripken Jr. had earned the nickname of "The Iron Man" for never missing a game. On December 29, 2020 Hotel California ended their streak of never missing a trivia night. It might not have seemed like a big deal but Hotel California has been there with us since the beginning, week afte...r week. We appreciate all our guests and teams that come through here but when you haven't missed a single week of trivia in over 5 years, that's beyond something special!!! "The Streak" all began in the Fall of 2015 when The Meadows Bar and Grill completed renovations. Shortly after, F&B Director Ken Blidy and Executive Chef Vince Romo started up Tuesday Tacos and Trivia night. One of the first teams to join was Hotel California and every week from then on, Hotel California was there. Sometimes they had more players and sometimes with less players but Hotel California could always be counted on. Our trivia night has had it's up's and down's over the years but Hotel California was always ready to play. On one occasion they even played against themselves Men vs Women because no other teams showed up. Hotel California has always been dedicated to The Meadows Bar and Grill and we can never say thank you enough for your support. Although "The Streak" has come to an end, a new one is ready to begin. Thank you Hotel California as well as the many other teams that support our special trivia night and The Meadows Bar and Grill.

Although all our teams were in it until the very end, it came down to a tie-breaking question between Westmont Drinking Team and Hotel California for the title. Another great night of trivia!!! A special thanks to 3rd Wheel, Double Trouble (AKA Team Lucky), The Bees, Team MW, and The House of Ryan for coming out last night. It's always great seeing you all.
