One may own their thoughts, only; physical items can never be owned; for indeed the body my thoughts reside upon is on loan from the fabric of the cosmos. ~Jacob Burnard

"My memories are like dreams lost at sea, each line a letter in a floating bottle destine for distant shores or darkest doors." ~Jacob Burnard

"We seem to exist somewhere in the middle of cosmic reality trying to define the parts and wholes of Cosmos. We may find, by traveling further and further into the microcosmic that the individual parts which make up everything are actually one thing; conversely, we may find, by traveling further and further into the macrocosmic that the one thing we conceive to be the whole of existence is a complex web of many pieces; and, these pieces may create the fabric upon which exist...ence rests; or, the fabric on which existence rests is the whole. The problem which persists is whether or not the universe is finite or infiniteas the latter seems more plausible, van Inwagen’s nihilistically clean and simple answer does little more than validate life as a superior constituent of universe; whereas, Simons agnostic view of mereology (as it would depend on vastly greater amounts of information) may be a more productive and humble way in which to proceed: as it would require us to continue our inquiry of mereology philosophically; and by admitting that the answers to our questions of our physical reality produce further questions than answers, at this current time, I believe this to be true. Of course, there may always exist those which believe a clean and simple answer is better that an answer which requires us to go back to the preverbal drawing board. The question I would ask those such persons is this: Is it conceivable that (if we put aside the clean and simple answer and went, instead, for the difficult questions) we would find answers to questions that we never before thought conceivable, and could those answers change the way we view and function within and/or upon Cosmos?" ~Jacob Burnard (The Physicist with the ill-favored Mind)

The ceremony and laws surrounding marriage clearly illustrate the desire for people to own one another. It may be argued that socially accepted and lawfully implemented ownership is exemplary of a culture, insecure. Love has not the constraints of commitment. Love IS. And love IS for as long as an environment exists for its presence. ~Jacob Burnard (A.O. Walker, The Historian)
