Everything is about energy. Everything that ever goes on in this dimension of reality that we are in is about energy. This whole idea of the great programming I... think that this has got to do with the planetary industrial ruling class. The programming has got to do with how they channel our energy, the energy of being, being human, to feed their technological needs. The programming takes place in how we’re civilized, educated, to see reality. Programming is about how to get our energy. -John Trudell See more

Poignant comments here from contributor Lorna Li, who also happens to be one of my favorite people to follow on social for her consistent, intelligent, grounded..., loving wisdom: I couldn't help but notice this phenomenon over the last few months - that psychedelic conferences are overwhelmingly white and male. I find it also surprising that many of the white speakers selected for these spots haven't had much personal experience with psychedelics at all. And white male speakers often get paid to speak. They get paid to consult right off the bat. If you are a POC, on the other hand, the only way you get a seat at the table, is to "pay to play". Or contribute free labor. And then, this comment irked me, but I find it all too common (honestly, if you are struggling to find female psychedelic speakers, especially women of color, just ask me and I'll give you a list). Finding people of color to speak was extremely difficult, said Krause. We were disturbed that, for whatever reason, all of the CEO level executives of these up and coming companies mostly appear to be white men. Why is it so hard to find people of color to speak? Is it because there aren't any expert POC? Or is it because of cognitive bias towards the perceived expertise of white men, so that qualified female experts are overlooked over and over again? Could it be because "science" is being used to grant legitimacy to psychedelics (even ancestral plant medicines), and STEM skews white and male, due to continued gender and racial discrimination? Is it because of the systemic disadvantages that POC and WOC have in capitalizing on speaking gigs - they are less able to personally take on the cost of travel and hotel expenses if the speaking gig is unpaid, especially if they are not selling books or supplements or online courses. "The seven conferences examined by Lucid News included just over 400 total speaker appearances. While not all presenters’ identities could be confirmed, this writer estimates that 68% were men and over 90% were white. Julie Holland, a psychiatrist who is a medical monitor for several MAPS clinical research studies, says, I’m just exasperated that, at this point, in 2020, there are still so many ‘manels’ men only panels in conferences. I’m shocked. There’s no excuse for it." Lorna Li

This one is particularly powerful during these times of heightened racial tensions. Who benefits from division and tension? And who benefits from solidarity with each other and our ancestors?
