How to Live in Babylon without Becoming Babylon In Daniel chapter 3, the bible records the account of three Hebrew boys forced to learn the language, literature, and customs of the Babylonians (cultural propaganda). How did they live in that environment and remain true to their God? They retained a God-centered worldview so that ultimately the world could view their God. They never forgot Who they belonged to (verse 6).... Nebuchadnezzar tried to steal their true identity by changing their names. Renaming was an attempt to nullify the truth of who they were. They resolved to stand (verse 8). Daniel resolved not to be defiled. Resolve does not develop by going to church every week. Resolve involves being authentic every day. Consistency. Integrity is being the same person no matter where you are. Integrity calls us to live inside out and keep the outside from coming in. Contend through conviction (verses 17-18). Refuse to bow to the god of this world. These truths are as important today as they were in the days of Daniel. Let’s continue to raise up Daniel’s and Esther’s for the glory of God in this generation! Pastor Dona

This Sunday is the last day to bring a coat for the Coat Drive! We are collecting winter coats for the homeless! Because of COVID-19 they need to be new, men and women, adult sizes small through 3XL. Larger sizes are preferred. If you’re able, please help us meet a tangible need of the homeless seeking help near our church. #thegardenbakersfield #cityserve #coatdrive #givewarmth

The LORD has Need of You! as they neared Jerusalem, He said to them, Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it, you will find a c...olt tied on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it to Me. If anyone says to you, Why are you doing this? say, The Lord has need of it. ~ Mark 11:2-3 (KJV) Every command of God is significant! Sometimes the simplest commands are the most important for our future. In this unique season, God is doing things that will require our alertness and awareness as never before. We must stay flexible to perceive His ways and methods. You must exit your present in order to walk in your future. Jesus told His disciples to go somewhere they had not gone in order to do something that they had not done. Find your colt. Most of our successful choices in life have come about because we acted on something that appeared insignificant. Untie your colt. People miss destiny because they do not look within. There is a storehouse or treasury room within each of us. It requires us to dig to discover our gifts. Loose your gifts and untie what has been bound! The LORD has need of you! Pastor Dona
