Change can be hard, humans get stuck in a routine, even negative ones like unhealthy levels of alcohol consumption. Many people believe that they cannot change it because the thought of life without it is as difficult as the life with it. There is no rhyme or reason for carrying on doing something unhealthy and destructive but getting stuck in a vicious cycle with alcohol can make people feel both emotionally and physically trapped.
You have enough stress in your life. Learn how to let go of what you don’t need. Learn to walk away from stressful situations that overwhelm you.
Each and every day, write down a couple of things you are grateful for. If you’re having a bad day, look at your list and remember how far you’ve come.
