Patrick has three years! Anytime someone takes any length of sobriety, it is a HUGE accomplishment and Patrick’s story is one that provides inspiration to all. Three years ago, Patrick was homeless and living on the streets of Massachusetts. Then one day, he was given an opportunity to go to treatment.... He knew he needed a fresh start, so he made the decision to accept an aftercare plan and to continue his treatment with us at The District. Patrick has continued to put his best foot forward on a daily basis while inspiring success in the men and women with whom he works daily. We are so grateful to have been a part of this young man's journey and we are excited to see what the future holds for him. Congratulations, Pat, NOW GET FOUR!

Devin has two years! It is truly amazing how much a person can change in such a short amount of time. Devin has spent the last two years of his life not only growing personally, but also finding time in his day to provide help to those in need.... Recently, this young man left our nest and ventured out on his own. Although he still stays close to the TDRC Family he is building a life of his own. Devin is now a full-time student in college, following his dreams and aspirations. Even as his life continues to move in an exciting new direction, Devin still finds time to share his fellowship with others within The District community. Devin’s commitment to living a sober lifestyle and staying focused on achieving personal milestones is inspirational to us all. Congratulations, Devin. NOW GET THREE!

We wanted to take a moment to give a special shout out to a staff member who goes above and beyond on a daily basis. Caitlin has truly put her fingerprint on all aspects of the program here and we could not be more grateful. With 12 years of experience in the field of substance abuse and mental health treatment her knowledge and dedication is a privilege to all the lives affected by her tireless work. ... Not only does Caitlin excel in the impressive task of daily commitment to our clients and their families, but she returns home to excel in the daily care of her three beautiful children. Everyone who crosses paths with Caitlin is lucky to have her join their life and we couldn’t be more grateful and blessed to have her as an integral part of our family. Nick has four years! In order to achieve such a milestone a fair amount of work must be done. Selflessness, patience, and rigorous honesty are just a few of the many principles that one must live life by daily. Nick embodies all of these characteristics so it is no wonder he stands proud today as a sober man. Nick had not felt comfortable in his own skin for years. The smiling man you see in these pictures had not been truly happy in a long time. After putting in a decent am...ount of work his smile began to return, Nick began to feel comfortable in his own skin once again. Nick realized that helping others was his calling, he returned to school and obtained education in the field of addiction and chemical dependency. Today, Nick is a crucial part of the TDRC team, he spends his days helping other men and women who are still searching for their escape from the throws of addiction. Congratulations Nick and thank you for all that you do. NOW GET FIVE!

Spencer has one year! We at The District wanted to take a moment to give a special shout out to Spencer Lee M., who took one year of sobriety on August 17th, 2020. After previous failed attempts (mostly attributable to returning to his old environment), he decided to do something different this time.... He made the brave decision to accept help and joined our community after completing a 30 day residential program. He quickly found a family here at TDRC. The growth we have seen in this young man has been tremendous, but the most exciting part is the knowledge that this is only the beginning! Congratulations, Spencer. Keep putting in the effort and your life will only continue to blossom. Thank you for being a part of the TDRC family. We are excited to watch you continue to grow. NOW GO GET TWO!

Seth has four years! This past week marked a very special milestone in our community - Mr. Seth Bitzer celebrated four years of sobriety! What makes us a quality aftercare solution is simple: leadership. Solution-based, loving, compassionate, leadership. ... Today, we have the pleasure of celebrating Seth, who is an integral piece of our leadership collective, in his own personal recovery journey. Seth was welcomed into our community with just 30 days sober, and we've had the pleasure of watching him grow ever since. Seth came to California on August 8th, 2016, in search of a solution. Originally from Delaware, where he had been crippled by the disease of addition for nearly a decade, Seth was a long ways from home. Without any delay, he began putting in the work. Taking full advantage of the opportunity, Seth has made a complete 180 and is unrecognizable compared to the man he was when he first arrived at TDRC. Today, Seth is a crucial part of our mission. There is not a day that goes by that this man does not make personal scarifies for others, all while working to improve upon the man he is today. Without strong role models in our community we are all but lost, so thank you, Seth, for being an outstanding leader to those trying to find their way.
