This is terrifying. Here's what you can do - call your elected representatives and voice your concerns. Phone calls get more attention than emails, but do that too - go to your elected representative's website and use the contact procedure there. It will confirm that you are a constituent by asking for your address. Schedule a call and an email at least once a month and keep up the pressure. Health care coverage and enforcement of laws must be improved so no one faces being dumped when they are at their most vulnerable. If you are not independently wealthy but can afford long term care insurance, get 3 quotes and buy it.
