Ahhhsavasana Here are seven tips for how to savasana like a pro! 1.Don’t leave early! The final resting pose is as important, if not more, than everything leading up to it. Your body AND mind will thank you for staying to enjoy it. 2.Get comfy. Listen to your body and do what feels good on that particular day such as allowing legs wide/narrow, knees bent and feet resting together, or legs up on the wall.... 3.Rotate palms and inner thighs upwards. You are meant to receive in Savasana, so allow yourself to be open and let it all go. 4.Walk your shoulder blades towards one another. This helps to create an open chest and space across the front body, and counteract the inward rotation we spend the majority of our day in. 5.Close your eyes and relax your face. Close your eyes to eliminate any outward distraction, and make a conscious effort to relax through the jaw and forehead by separating your lips slightly to release tension and turning your gaze between the eyebrows, respectively. 6.Don’t put any pressure on yourself. While Savasana is meant for a time of stillness in body and mind, putting pressure to not think can make it worse. Instead of trying so hard to not thinkstart to notice! Notice how your body feels now compared to when you walked in, the sound of breath, or the rhythmic beat of your heart. 7.Take this feeling with you. Practice taking the calmness with you as you re-enter the day by slowly getting up, noticing what’s going on around you, and easing back in. .
