Coalition artists and co-founder Alicia Rojas new Poderosas Mural in the LA Times! Gracias Sara Cardine and LA Times for joining us during the unveiling! They’re all luchadoras they’re all guerreras, Rojas said of the fighting spirit inherent in the mural’s subjects. Latina women are such an important part of making America, especially in Orange County. I see myself in these women.

It’s uplifting women of color and highlighting our attributes and contributions to the making of America, especially right now, said Alicia Rojas, the designer and lead artist of the mural. Making a public art project in the middle of a pandemic has been a challenge, but it is something that needed to happen to try to bring back the feeling of love, respect and admiration something positive to remind ourselves that we are neighbors and that these are (common) spaces.
