Telephone Company Review If your Telephone Company got a Report Card, how would you grade it? A is Excellent, C is Average, F for Fail!
SIP is a voice over IP protocol that shows up in many of the latest and greatest phones from the best phone equipment manufacturers. Many people think that VOIP phone calls are cheap and low quality but SIP trunks provide higher quality of service and sound great. SIP phones also offer the most advanced new features and lowest overall cost structure. My company does not sell but does use SIP phone equipment.
Had dinner one time at Windows on the World restaurant at the top of the North Tower. Truly awesome. Will never forget.

LATA Local Access and Transport Area The LATA refers to the region served by telephone companies providing local phone service. More than one local exchange carrier or phone company can serve a LATA region. Calls made in the LATA geographic area are labeled intraLATA. A phone call from one LATA to another LATA is called interLATA or inter state. These term are most frequently seen on phone bills.

A long time ago, T-1 connections were considered state of the art technology. Today most people have faster internet connections at home. A T1 carries a guarantee or Service Level Agreement for network reliability.
Companies will turn to colo or colocation of their dedicated servers when building a datacenter is cost prohibitive. Computer servers and storage area networks or Sans require controlled power, temperature, humidity, security, and high bandwidth environments. Co-location of this equipment in a carrier neutral data center allows access to these features at a much lower cost.
What is Ethernet? Ethernet is the most popular network (LAN) communication technology. There is an RJ45 ethernet interface on nearly every electronic device that is manufactured, including computers, tv's, printers, gaming consoles, and any device designed to be on the internet. Ethernet is standardized in IEEE 802.3 and was originally developed by Robert Metcalfe and Xerox.

The DEMARC or demarcation point is the line that divides a business location's inside wiring from the telephone company's public switched telephone network, or PSTN. The Gia Heller network is slightly larger.

No company is hack-proof but take the proper precautions!
The Woz is not totally enthusiastic about the cloud. Could be a lack of communication. He might want to speak to an expert.
