Until further notice, the City Hall offices will be closed to in person business. The closure is due to the significant COVID-19 case increase in the county. Our staff is still here and still working to serve you. Most of our services are available via phone, email and our website, but we are working on getting 100% of our services available online.

Because of our alarming surge of COVID-19 cases, the state today announced a regional Stay Home Order plan. This order is NOT in effect right now, but will be... implemented within 48 hours when a regions has less than 15% ICU hospital bed availability. Monterey County is in the Bay Area region, which has projections of less than 15% ICU capacity in mid-December. The order is limited, lasting three weeks, and would impact a variety of businesses and services. You can read more about the order and impacts at https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-nee/. These additional measures are temporary, a bridge until we get vaccine relief. Please continue to safeguard yourself and others to help us all get through this dangerous time. See more

We've got so many ideas for ways to celebrate our 100 year birthday, but we need the ideas and support of the community to make it truly great. Look forward to hearing from everyone tomorrow.

We've been getting some questions about what the city rules are for Halloween this year. The CA Department of Health has handed down some guidelines for us to follow, so we made a quick video to summarize what we were told. Even though activities will look and feel different, we do so to protect our community and keep everyone healthy and safe. We'd like to thank everyone involved in the Front Street Spookfest and No-Contact Car Parade happening on October 31st. We think it's a great, safe alternative that will give our residents an outlet to celebrate. More details about the event in the video. Happy Halloween Soledad!

Another reminder to our citizens that this great public assistance program is still available to Soledad residents. We've had many inquire and sign up, but we suspect there are more in need that aren't aware this program exists. We are going to try and get some information included in the next utility bill to reach those without access to social media. Please pass this information along to friends or family that are in need. A quick phone call to 211 gets you started.
