Very saddened to hear the news that Pacific Grove historian and legend Pat Hathaway has passed away. After our family took over @thebutterflygroveinn, we didn’t know very much about its rich history. Pat helped us uncover a lot of photos, history, and most importantly, the stories that have helped shape the soul of the property. Our website features a history page that is colored in details thanks to him.... Thank you, Pat for your unrelenting love for history and for Pacific Grove. Most importantly, thank you for giving us the time to hear your amazing story telling. We promise to honor you and continue to pass on what you worked so hard to keep alive The waves were spectacular yesterday and a true phenomenon. Our only explanation is that you were leaving your final mark on a town that you loved so very much. #restinpeace
